Pinarello has been a prominent name in the world of cycling, with recent success through teams like Sky and now INEOS. However, it's important to remember that Pinarello has been a major player in the pro peloton since the 1990s. From 1991 to 1997, Pinarello bikes were ridden to victory on the Champs Elysees by Miguel Induráin, Bjarne Riis, and the only German winner, Jan Ullrich. Founded in 1953 by Giovanni Pinarello, a former pro cyclist and teammate of Louison Bobet, the company is based in Treviso, near Campagnolo's hometown of Vicenza.
One of Pinarello's most famous models, the Opera, is built with Dedacciai EOM 16.5 triple butted tubing and features an 'Aria' Carbon Fork and CRS 'Carbon Rear System' rear stays. The unique profile of the tubes provides a smooth and responsive ride, similar to a full carbon frame but with less vibration. The frame is tig welded and showcases beautiful engravings on the dropouts and elegant chain stays around the bottom bracket. The paint is in excellent condition with only a few minor marks and chips. The carbon forks and rear end are also in great shape.
The Campagnolo Record drivetrain is in fantastic condition, with clean carbon materials and bright aluminum components. The brakes work exceptionally well and the bike shifts smoothly through all gears using the carbon shifters with new hoods. There is a small amount of delamination on the right shifter lever, but it is still one of the best used ones the seller has seen. The bike also comes with fresh BBB bike ribbon black tape, making it ready to ride and sure to make its new owner very happy.
The Pinarello Opera has a seat tube measurement of 56cm and a top tube measurement of 54cm. The head tube measures 13.5cm and the bike was made in the 2000s in Italy. The frame is made with Dedacciai EOM 16.5 tubing and features forged dropouts. The original paintwork is in great condition and the standover height is 80cm. This bike is suitable for riders between 5'7" and 5'11".
