History of Cervélo bikes

Cervélo is a Canadian bicycle manufacturer founded in 1995 by Phil White and Gerard Vroomen. The company began by producing high-performance road and triathlon bikes, with a focus on aerodynamics and innovative designs.

In the early years, Cervélo gained a reputation for innovation, with designs such as the Cervélo P3, which was one of the first bikes to feature a full carbon fiber frame and was widely considered the most aerodynamic triathlon bike of its time.

Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Cervélo continued to innovate and push the boundaries of bicycle design, introducing new technologies such as the Cervélo Rca, which was the first bike to use a new type of carbon fiber that was lighter and stronger than previous materials.

Cervélo is also known for its sponsorship of professional cycling teams and athletes, including Team Dimension Data (now Team Qhubeka-Assos) and the Ironman World Championship-winning athletes Chrissie Wellington and Mirinda Carfrae.

In 2012, Cervélo was acquired by the Dutch conglomerate Pon Holdings, which also owns brands such as Santa Cruz Bicycles, Focus Bikes, and Gazelle. Under new ownership, Cervélo continued to expand its product line and improve its designs, with a focus on high-performance and aerodynamics. Today, Cervélo offers a wide range of road and triathlon bikes for riders of all levels, with a commitment to innovative designs and attention to detail.
