The Cervelo Soloist. A name steeped in history, but instantly recognizable to anyone with a passion for bike racing dating back to the early 2000s. It was the go-to bike for top World Tour contenders on CSC and the Cervelo Test Team, and now it's making a comeback for a new generation. The new Soloist is designed for the rider and racer who wants one high-performance bike that can do it all. It strikes the perfect balance between lightweight and aerodynamic features, making it the ultimate "just right" bike. The Soloist is slightly lighter than the S5, but more aerodynamic than the R5. It also features the threaded bottom bracket standard found on the R5-CX. This race bike can accommodate both mechanical and electronic shifting, handle all weather conditions, and still have the agility to make a breakaway at the crucial moment. That's the Soloist.
FAST LIKE THE S5, LIGHT LIKE THE R5
The Soloist falls between the S5 and R5 on the performance scale, with a price tag that's more affordable for the everyday rider. It's about 250g heavier than the R5, but 250g lighter than the S5. It's 190g slower than the S5, but 126g faster than the R5. In other words, it's the perfect compromise for the rider looking for a smart and intentional choice.
LOOKS LIKE A RACE BIKE, RIDES LIKE A RACE BIKE
The handling geometry of the Soloist is directly taken from the R5, a bike loved by both professionals and amateurs for its stability, precision, and poise on challenging climbs and descents. The Soloist benefits from decades of race bike development and is ready to hit the road.
HIDDEN FROM THE WIND, NO BLEEDING REQUIRED
The cable routing is hidden inside the frame for aerodynamics, but it doesn't go through the stem. Cervelo has developed its own system that threads the cables under the stem, through the bearing cap. This means you won't have to bleed the brakes if you change your riding position or lend the bike to a friend with a different stem length.
CLEARANCE FOR WIDER TIRES
The Soloist can accommodate tires up to 34mm (measured) and wheels wide enough to support them.
