The 2021 Giant Trance X E+ 2 Pro in medium size has undergone a complete refurbishment, including a full respray of the frame and a motor overhaul, by two experienced bike mechanics. We acquired the bike from eBay two months ago, listed as "spares or repairs," and have given it a new life. After weeks of labor and over £1000 spent on parts, this bike is now in almost new condition. With a retail price of £5500, getting a fully refurbished one for less than half the price is a great deal and would make a perfect Christmas present or a reliable bike for many more miles.
The motor has undergone a full bearing overhaul, including a replacement gear assembly, which was the cause of the bike's failure (see images). We have also replaced the TRP brake rotors with 203mm ones, front and rear brake pads, Burgtec grips, pedals, dropper and gear cables, cassette and chain, and performed a full brake bleed. The motor has been refurbished, and the frame has been professionally resprayed with 2k lacquer. We have also serviced the rear wheel bearing and hub, replaced all frame and linkage bearings, and added new Schwalbe Hans Dampf tires and fork decals. The bike's software is up to date, and it comes with a new charger.
We have included some of the original invoices from the previous owner, showing the work done by Giant themselves just before the motor failure. This bike has been a fun project for us, and it has given us some quality time to catch up. We did not do this to make a profit, so we welcome any serious offers as long as we make enough to buy a few beers. Thank you for viewing.
