This is a fantastic opportunity to own a 1982/83 Colnago Nuovo Mexico frame and forks in the iconic "Saronni" color scheme of deep ruby red with white panels. Made from Columbus SL tubing, this frame is both lightweight and strong, making it a top choice for cyclists of its time. This particular model features 2 grooves on the top tube and 4 grooves on the down tube, making it a late model of the Nuovo Mexico frame.
Listed as "New Other," this frame was originally new and never used before I purchased it. I built it up as a show bike, but it has never been ridden. There are some minor signs of the build, but they will not be visible once the frame is built up again. The paint and decals are in mint condition, and the white panels are painted on, not just stickers like earlier models. The chrome on the forks, right chainstay, and rear dropouts is also in excellent condition.
The Campagnolo Super Record headset was also new when I fitted it to the frame. This frame is a true testament to the exceptional design and engineering skills of Ernesto Colnago and his team. The approximate dimensions are as follows: seat tube 53 cm (center to center), top tube 53 cm (center to center), and head tube 12.5 cm.
