Bike brand: Reilly
I am selling a Reilly T640 titanium rim brake frame and fork in size medium. I have decided to part with this amazing frameset as I have too many bikes and need to downsize.
I purchased this frameset directly from Reilly in May 2020. It is their top of the range model, made from Ti 6/4 which is a stronger, stiffer, and lighter version of titanium compared to the more common 3/2.5. This makes it more difficult to manufacture, and only the best titanium frames are made from 6/4. The current version of this frameset retails for £3500. However, this exact frame is no longer available as Reilly now only produces the T640 as a disc frame. They can still make a rim brake version, but it will be even more expensive.
According to a review on the Road CC website from June 4, 2018, this frameset is highly praised. I have previously owned two Enigma Excels made from 6/4 Ti, and I personally prefer this one. The handling feels more responsive, and the polished titanium finish is a nice touch compared to the dull-grey finish of the Enigmas. This is not a criticism of Enigma, as they do offer a polished version, and I have owned and loved 8 of their steel and titanium bikes in the past. In fact, Mark Reilly, the founder of Reilly, used to be a frame builder at Enigma before starting his own company. I was curious to see how they compared, which is why I bought this frameset, even though I had just built my Open Min.D carbon superbike.
This frameset is in near-perfect condition, with only some light polishing on the headtube from the cables being the only blemish. 6/4 titanium is an exceptionally hard material, making it difficult to mark. The original owner built it up during lockdown and did not ride it much, as he also had a collection of bikes. I purchased it in Autumn 2024 and have only ridden it around a dozen times. It is a sublime ride. I made some upgrades, including swapping the Ultegra groupset for Dura Ace 9100 and replacing the Borg 50C carbon wheels with custom DCR aluminium rims on Carbon Ti hubs. This not only reduced the weight by about 300g, but I have also found that carbon wheels do not
