This is a pre-owned vintage Eddy Merckx Pista Hour Record tribute bike in size 58cm. It features Campagnolo and Cinelli components. This bike pays homage to one of the greatest achievements in cycling history.
On October 25th, 1972, Eddy Merckx broke the Hour Record in Mexico City, covering a distance of 49.431 kilometers. To honor this achievement, I have built this bike using a genuine 1982 Merckx Pista frame and components from Campagnolo, Fiamme, and Cinelli.
The frame is a vintage original Eddy Merckx 1982 Pista frame made with Columbus SL tubing. It has chrome rear ends and has been painted to replicate the original design. The frame has the serial number #E3834, which matches the numbers on the other components.
The bike is equipped with a combination of very good condition (VGC) and new old stock (NOS) parts. The cranks are Campagnolo Pista chainset with a 52t x 14t 1/8" ratio. The bottom bracket is also from Campagnolo Pista. The hubs are also Campagnolo Pista, and the rims are Fiamme Red. The bike has Pevani Corsa tubular tires. The seat post is a Campagnolo Nuovo Record in 27.2mm, and the saddle is a Cinelli Unicanitor. The stem is a 130mm titanium stem, replicating the Pino stem. The handlebars are Cinelli 65, and the pedals are Campagnolo Pista with Alfredo Binda straps.
This bike is in excellent condition, as seen in the pictures. No expense has been spared in replicating the original Hour Record bike. It is not only a piece of cycling history but also a practical bike that is ready to ride. You can buy it and experience a part of cycling history, or you can display it on your wall and admire it.
