Bike brand: Specialized

Description

This is a medium hardtail Specialized Chisel that was purchased in January 2025. It is in like-new condition and has only been ridden for 750km since then, as recorded on Strava. The previous owner, who was a bike mechanic, had put approximately 250km on it and took good care of it. This bike has been a fantastic mountain bike for riding trails in the Forest of Dean and local Bristol trails, as well as for longer bikepacking trips in the Black Mountains and Exmoor. I am selling it because I have purchased a steel frame hardtail instead. There are a few paint chips and scuffs, which I have tried to capture in the photos.

The bike features a 2023 Chisel frame in M, a Reba RL fork with 100mm of travel, a Sram SX group set, Sram level brakes with new pads, an Ascend dropper seatpost, and Fast Trak Control tyres. It also comes with the stock saddle and grips (bar ends not included). The bags shown in the photos are not included, as they are just to show the bike set up for full bikepacking mode. However, I can throw in a pair of pedals if needed.

The bike is available for collection in Bristol and payment can be made in cash, through PayPal, or via transfer upon collection to avoid high eBay fees.

The Specialized Chisel Hardtail Medium is a high-performance mountain bike designed for experienced riders. It features a lightweight aluminum frame and a carbon fiber fork, making it both durable and agile on the trails. The bike also comes equipped with a 1x12 Shimano Deore drivetrain, providing smooth and efficient shifting. With its 29-inch wheels and tubeless-ready tires, the Chisel offers excellent traction and control on various terrains. Overall, this bike is praised for its responsive handling and impressive speed, making it a top choice for competitive riders.

On the other hand, some reviewers have noted that the Specialized Chisel Hardtail Medium may not be the best option for beginners or casual riders. Its aggressive geometry and stiff frame may be too intense for those looking for a more comfortable and forgiving ride. Additionally, some have mentioned that the bike's price point may be a bit steep for its features, especially compared to other similar models on the market. However, for those seeking a high-performance mountain bike with top-of-the-line components, the Specialized Chisel Hardtail Medium is a solid choice.
