The Cotic BFe Max 29er steel hardtail in Sunshine Yellow is a 2021 model made of 853 steel. It is a size XL and is in superb condition both cosmetically and mechanically. The frame is in very good condition with no dents, dings, or big scratches. The worst marks are around the NDS chainstay/dropout, which have been touched up. The fork is in perfect condition and has recently been serviced. The wheels are also in great condition, having been recently rebuilt and evenly tensioned. The hubs are perfect, but please note that they are non-Boost 15x100/12x142 and require Boost adaptors to fit the 15x110 fork and 12x148 frame spacing. The dropper has no visible wear or scratches, but there is a small amount of wobble that has been present since it was new and is not noticeable when riding. The cassette, chain, and chainring have only been used for a few miles, and the cranks have a couple of small marks on them. The rear mech and shifter are both in perfect condition and relatively new. The brakes are superb, with a 4-piston front and a 2-piston SLX rear. The rotors are new. The headset is perfectly smooth, as expected from a Cane Creek Forty. The bar and stem are new and unused, with a lovely rise and shape and are fairly light. The tyres are in great condition and are set up tubeless. The grips and saddle are also new. I purchased this as a frame-only in June 2023 and have hardly ridden it due to having too many bikes. It is mostly ridden gently when riding with the kids, but has also been on a couple of proper MTB rides where it reminded me how good a hardtail can be. I am a Cotic fan and have owned 8+ frames over the years, going back to an original Soul in 2005. I also ride a Cotic Cascade dropbar, which suits my needs better, which is why I am selling the BFe.
